About Pisiquid Canoe Club

Pisiquid was founded in 1975 by Fred and Karen Lynch and ever since it has provided summer fun to the youth of Windsor and West Hants. More recently, and with the redevelopment of the clubhouse in 2016/17, Pisiquid now offers year-round training in addition to summer camps. There is something for everyone at Pisiquid - see you on the water!

Josh Nowen

Head Coach

Josh started with Pisiquid as Head Coach in September 2020 after working as the Lead Development Coach at the Cheema Aquatic Club. Josh brings over 12 years of experience in the sport of sprint canoe/kayak, great passion for this sport, and vision of helping it advance and grow.

Some of the relevant skills and certifications that Josh brings to this role:

BSc in Kinesiology from Dalhousie University
Diploma of Disability Management from Dalhousie University
NCCP ELCC Certified, currently completing NCCP Competitive Development certification
International coaching/racing experience
Experience coaching both kayak and canoe disciplines

Josh coaches the year-round high performance program and is responsible for day-to-day operation of all programs at Pisiquid.

Our Board of Directors

2020-21

Pisiquid's Board of Directors is elected at the annual AGM and is responsible for operation and maintenance of the club. The Board meets monthly year-round and more frequently during the summer season.
